Pact AI ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Pact AI mobile application (the "App") and related services.

By using Pact AI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Pact AI is designed to minimize data collection. Information associated with your use of the App may include:

Pact Data: Pacts you create, including titles, schedules, reminders, motivations, notes, and status.
Check-In Data: Records of completed, partial, missed, skipped, paused, or archived check-ins.
Progress Data: Pact Score, streaks, completion history, and related accountability metrics.
AI Conversation Data: Messages and responses from optional AI coaching and suggestion features.
App Settings: Preferences such as reminder settings, AI feature toggles, and profile options.
Device Information: Basic device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and support.

Most of this information is stored locally on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use core features of the App.

Local Storage

Pact AI is designed around local-first data handling where applicable. User-created Pacts, check-ins, history, progress data, AI conversation history, app settings, and profile preferences are stored locally on your device.

Your data remains under your control on your iPhone or iPad.
Uninstalling the App may permanently delete locally stored data unless you have exported it first.
Data stored locally is protected by your device's built-in security features, including encryption where supported by your device and operating system.

How We Use Information

We use information solely to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its accountability features.
Display your Pacts, check-ins, streaks, Pact Score, and progress.
Send user-enabled check-in reminders through local notifications.
Generate optional AI suggestions, insights, and coaching responses when you use AI features.
Respond to your support requests and communications.
Ensure the security and integrity of the App.
Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your personal data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

AI Features and API Processing

AI features in Pact AI are optional and can be disabled. When you use AI features, limited relevant Pact context may be sent to third-party AI API providers to generate:

Pact suggestions based on your goals
Dashboard insights and progress analysis
Accountability coaching responses

AI processing may include your message, active Pacts, recent check-ins, missed commitments, streaks, notes, and Pact Score when relevant to the request. This information is used only to provide the requested AI functionality.

We do not use AI-processed content for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the feature you requested.

Important: You should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal, medical, legal, financial, or confidential information through AI features. AI responses may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before acting on them. Pact AI is not medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.

Notifications

The App uses notification permission only to send user-enabled check-in reminders. You can enable or disable reminders at any time within the App or through your device's Settings. Notifications are not used for advertising or marketing.

Data Sharing

Pact AI does not sell user data. Pact AI does not share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

AI API Providers: When you use optional AI features, limited relevant Pact context may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers for processing, solely to generate the response or suggestion you requested.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Protection of Rights: We may disclose information to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pact AI, our users, or the public.

Data Export and Deletion

You can export your local data as JSON from within the App at any time. You can also delete local app data from Settings. Once deleted, exported copies you have saved separately remain your responsibility.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

Storing Pact and accountability data locally on your device where applicable.
Using secure communication protocols when transmitting data to AI service providers.
Minimizing the collection and retention of personal information.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Pact AI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at info@pactai and we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
