Welcome to Pact AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pact AI mobile application (the "App") and related services provided by Pact AI ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the App.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will indicate changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Description of Pact AI
Pact AI is a personal accountability and productivity application that helps users turn goals into concrete commitments called "Pacts." The App provides:
- Tools to create, schedule, and manage personal Pacts.
- Check-in reminders, progress tracking, streaks, and Pact Score.
- Local storage of Pact data, check-ins, and history where applicable.
- Optional AI features for Pact suggestions, insights, and accountability coaching.
The App is intended for personal productivity, accountability, and habit support. It is not a substitute for professional services. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time, with or without notice.
User Responsibilities
When using Pact AI, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating Pacts and contacting support.
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Be solely responsible for the Pacts, check-ins, and content you create.
- Review and verify any AI-generated suggestions, insights, or coaching responses before relying on them.
- Maintain the security of your device and any data stored on it.
- Back up or export your local data if you wish to retain a copy before uninstalling the App.
Acceptable Use
You may not use the App to:
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
- Generate, transmit, or store content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its systems, or related services.
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers connected to the App.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App or interfere with any other user's use of the App.
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates this section.
AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App includes optional artificial intelligence features that generate Pact suggestions, insights, and coaching responses. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content is produced automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
- We do not guarantee that AI suggestions, insights, or coaching responses are always accurate, complete, reliable, or suitable for any particular purpose.
- AI responses should not be treated as factual statements, professional advice, or definitive guidance.
- You are solely responsible for evaluating and verifying any information obtained through the App before acting on it.
No Professional Advice
Pact AI is for personal productivity, accountability, and habit support. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, mental health, or emergency advice. AI-generated content is for general assistance purposes only.
You should not rely on the App as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified expert. Always consult a qualified professional for matters requiring specialized knowledge or expertise. If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Pact AI provides tools to help you structure commitments and track progress. We do not guarantee that you will achieve any specific goal, complete any Pact, maintain any streak, or improve any particular outcome. Your results depend on your own effort, circumstances, and choices.
Local Data Responsibility
Where applicable, your Pacts, check-ins, history, and related data are stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups through the App's export features if desired. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, App uninstallation, or deletion of local data through Settings.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Pact AI and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You retain ownership of the Pacts and content you create through the App. By using optional AI features, you grant us a limited license to process relevant content solely for the purpose of providing those features, including transmitting it to AI service providers as necessary.
Changes to the Service
We may update, modify, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App or any part thereof.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law provisions.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- In no event shall Pact AI, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of profits, missed goals, or business interruption.
- Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
Governing Law
